Links to follow up information for the "FINDING OUT" and "DICTOGLOSS" activities...
Hi all,
As you may recall, I demonstrated to you (in week 2 of the coursewwork) what I believe to be two of the most effective and practical activities for use in large secondary school classrooms: "Finding Out" and "Dictogloss".
Below you will find direct links to much more detailed explanations of the activities:
"Finding Out":
http://www.englishraven.com/SLAC_finding_out.html
"Dictogloss":
http://www.englishraven.com/SLAC_dictogloss.html
If you have forgotten what these are about, I suggest you review your knowledge of them...
Best wishes,
~ Jason

I love your class activities like things above. Right now, I can't do it due to the lack of time. I wish I were in middle school. Having a conversation with the other students is most important in Korean students' situation.

Dear, professor
These are very useful activies, I think, especially when no participants know one another. The "Finding out" activity let students know others in comfortable atmosphere. very natural way... Unfortunately, in Korea, because we used to have hard-ticket and teachers don't like moving in the classroom during the course I hadn't had that kind of lesson.
However, here, we can do that and it is really good experience to me. Someday I will try it in my classroom. ^^
Thank you for tips~!

Thank you professor. This site is very useful. Doing many kinds of interesting and funny activities like these is a good and helpful way to teach students effectively. As you know, just studying English grammar and vocabulary is very boring, and practice makes perfect. Also during doing these activities, students may not feel bored. I want to make use of these activities as much as possible, if the condition of teaching students is possible.

I'm always late!
I want to be a teacher who always tries to organize some useful materials like Jason.
I need to be more diligent and planned through this course.
Aside from this activity, I've been learning to be a sincere teacher!!

Thank U so much!
Dear Jason,
Hello.
I didn't know if you uploaded them here.
So I had made them by myself to use them in my class.
I'm still bring them into my grammar and listening classes
as they work a lot better than I expected.
I always appreciate your great tips for practical teaching.
See you later.
Best wishes,
Hyo-Jin

I remeber having done these activities in earlier classes. We didn't know each other well back then but started talking in English to one another after interactive 'finding out' activity had begun.

Thank you.
It was great opener to speak with others.
At first, just greeting classmates was hard to me but this activities made me encourage to speak with others.
It's very helpful site. I can print out whenever I want to and it's free.
Thank you, Jason.
